The act of transfiguration is the change of form, of appearance. A metamorphosis of reality to access another vision, another perception of the body.
What are we, what does our body hide, in the folds of our flesh, in those secret recesses that limit and define our lineaments…
What does this word “identity”, which increasingly encircles us, really stand for? What if, while invoking a dance born in neutral, universal darkness, we let the body tell us that identity doesn’t exist? In this “beyond”, behind the figure and appearance we are confronted with every day, a thousand facets of ourselves collide and reveal themselves. So many realities that belong to us and that we have yet to explore.
Bodies, but also emotions, reinvent themselves through this same process of transformation. An alchemy created by the reaction to light and the trust generated on the other side of the camera.
The TRANSFIGURA project, centered on ballerina Anna-Lisa Alesiani, who has become the photographer’s accomplice, captures this dreamlike dimension of another visual plane, where movement and mutation translate into a dance of light and form.
L’acte de transfiguration est le changement de forme, d’apparence. Métamorphose de la réalité pour accéder à une autre vision, une autre perception du corps.
Que sommes-nous, que cache notre corps, dans les plis de notre chair, dans ces recoins secrets qui limitent et définissent nos linéaments…
Ce mot “identité” qui nous encercle de plus en plus, que défend-il réellement? Et si, tout en invoquant une danse naissant dans l’obscurité neutre et universelle, on laissait dire au corps que l’identité n’existe pas. Dans cet “au-delà”, derrière la figure et l’apparence auxquelles nous sommes confrontés chaque jour, milles facettes de nous même s’entrechoquent et se dévoilent. Autant de réalités qui nous appartiennent et qu’il nous reste à explorer.
Des corps, mais aussi des émotions, qui se réinventent à travers ce même processus de transformation. Une alchimie créée par la réaction à la lumière et la confiance générée de l’autre côté de la caméra.
Le projet TRANSFIGURA, centré sur la ballerine Anna-Lisa Alesiani, devenue complice du photographe, capture cette dimension onirique d’un autre plan visuel, où le mouvement et la mutation se traduisent par une danse de lumière et de formes.
