// EXHIBITION | MIA Fair XII Edition

We are very pleased to participate in the XII Edition of MIA Fair 2023 with the project Verena’s Dance, with Drina Gallery in collaboration with Aria Art Gallery and FL Gallery Wizard.

// VERENA’S DANCE

A woman undresses and slowly gives herself over to the ritualistic movements she knows well. Four images to capture this dance, slow and mesmerising, intimate and subtle. Not only watching, but also accompanying, from the darkness, with our own body, the body of the other, and its secret movements.

Verena Stenke, performer of the duo VestAndPage, places herself at the centre of this meditative and transcendental fresco, where the body abandons itself to the mutations imprinted by time, the transformation of the image allies with the mutation perceived deep inside ourselves.

This thought-provoking project delves into the relationship between reality and perception, and how art can challenge and redefine our understanding of this connection. Igor Eškinja captures the transformation of objects from two-dimensional to three-dimensional through his elegant and modest architectonics of perception. Meanwhile, Giuseppe Pietroniro examines the interplay of shadows and absence reflected and multiplicated in empty architecture. Michelangelo Bastiani merges the real and virtual, creating a third dimension where nature and artificiality coexist. Edoardo Dionea Cicconi works between art & science, investigating the concept and perception of “time”.  In his last monumental installation, he captured the true colors of the aurora borealis in digital form, creating a sculpture of light in the sky. Claire Clelia Baldo captures the moment of secret movements  where the body surrenders to the mutations imprinted by time. Fabrizio Corneli’s Halo series blurs the line between the visible and invisible. The abstract silhouettes emit a soft, spherical iridescence that resembles a halo, imbuing an immeasurable and immanent appearance of energy.
